About us

Claude Corriveau Biron & Grégoire Biron 1995

Our story,

A love story

Grégoire Biron, a former diplomat, is often traveling. With his family, he appreciates the comfort of large spaces and “home-like” facilities when away from home. That’s how he came up with the idea: a place where families could feel safe and comfortable while on the move. It would be several years before he was able to put his ideas into practice!

In 2002, he and his wife Claude Corriveau Biron (1943-2017) purchased the building that once housed the warehouse of Chinic Hardware Co Ltd. They immediately fell in love with it. A fine example of eclecticism with its blend of classic and modern, every window on the facade offers a direct view of the river.

Here begins a great adventure!

The Royal Dalhousie opened in 2012 after 10 years of renovation and restoration of the 1873 heritage building.

Concluding a long series of restorations of old Quebec properties between 1980 and 2011, Le Royal Dalhousie is Mr. Biron’s final work for his beloved wife.

Our Mission

Today, with its spacious, luxurious units, the Royal Dalhousie is a testament to the Biron family’s desire to preserve this building’s historical value, while offering their guests the most comfortable, high-quality experience possible, in an enchanting environment.
